Constellate

What we're working on next

Constellate gets a new feature most weeks, along with fixes for anything you tell us about. Here is what that looks like over the months ahead, sorted by how sure we are. The further down the page you go, the further off it is, and the less certain we are about it. We would rather show you that honestly than promise you a date.

Coming next

Built and tested already, waiting to be switched on.

Holidays

Your photos already know the date. Soon they will know the occasion. Easter, Christmas, Thanksgiving, Melbourne Cup and hundreds more from around the world, matched to where the photo was actually taken. So a folder can read "2019 Easter in Melbourne" instead of just a date.

Standalone tools

Sometimes you do not want a full sort. Your photos might already be organised your way and you just want the duplicates pulled out without anything being renamed. Or every photo given a proper name, right where it sits. Or every file extension checked after a move to a new drive. One-job tools that do exactly that one thing, and leave everything else alone.

On the roadmap

What we plan to build in the months after launch. These are the plan rather than a promise of dates. If one of them is the thing you have been waiting for, tell us and it moves up.

The one we are most excited about

A brighter Insights page

A calendar that lights up on your busiest days, a proper look at which cameras you actually use, and the places you keep coming back to. Your whole collection, told back to you as a story.

A plain English summary before a sort

How many photos, into how many folders, what gets set aside and why, all before anything moves.

Fixing one photo's details on the spot

Correcting a single wrong date then and there, without re-sorting anything.

Smarter help for photos that need a look

Suggesting a date and a place for photos that are missing their details, with you always getting the final say.

Finding a photo once it is sorted

Searching your sorted collection by when and where, without opening a single folder.

Sharing a trip

Everything from those days gathered into one folder, ready to send, upload, or hand over on a memory stick.

A health check for your collection

Checking your photos against a record of how they should look, in case something has quietly changed over the years.

Further down the pipeline

Named only, so you can see where we are heading. These are the furthest off, and none of them are being worked on yet.

Sorting several folders in one go

Photos that live in the cloud, like OneDrive and iCloud

A separate vault for your RAW files

Network drive smarts

A faster first scan

Faster reading of RAW, HEIC and video files
